Coconut Chia Green Smoothie

This green smoothies gives you tons of good fats for your brain, phytonutrients, minerals, vitamins, protein and antioxidants.  Our bodies need healthy fats, especially our brain which is made up of at least 60% fat.  Don’t be afraid of the healthy fats especially when eating or drinking dark leafy greens.  In order to absorb many of the fat soluble nutrients in dark leafy greens you have to combine it with healthy fats.   I make this and take it with me when I have a busy day and it completely sustains me and gives me energy.  When I am just making it for myself, I will use collards, swiss chard, kale and spinach but when I make it for the girls too I use mostly spinach and kale for the greens since they like the flavor better and of course I add more raw honey for them.

Coconut Chia Green Smoothie

  • 8 oz. purified water
  • Deep Leafy Greens (fill blender a little over 1/2 full packed in)
  • 1/2 lemon (just peel off the yellow but keep the thick white part on where tons of nutrition is)
  • 1/8 cup chia seed
  • 1 can Organic Coconut Milk Full Fat
  • 2 handfuls frozen organic peaches or fruit of your choosing
  • Raw Honey to taste – I put a couple tsp’s in

Blend until smooth and enjoy!  We drank ours while watercoloring tonight : )
